Mr-Glass Shingle, Tile & Metal Roofing in Miami Beach: What to Know First

We’re an independent Mr-Glass service provider handling shingle, tile, and metal roofing repairs and replacements across Miami Beach. Most Mr-Glass roof jobs take us one to two days once we’ve sourced the right materials, and we give you a written line-item quote before any work begins so the price on the invoice matches the price you approved. If you own a Mr-Glass roof and something’s leaking, lifting, or just doesn’t look right, call (863) 656-0462 and a live person answers, day or night. Ed Winslow grew up in Miami and has spent nearly thirty years watching what salt air, hurricane winds, and afternoon downpours do to roofing systems along the beach.

How Mr-Glass Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Flashing separation at the Mr-Glass tile-to-wall transition. On older Mr-Glass tile installations along Miami Beach condos and mid-century homes, we regularly see step flashing pull away from stucco walls. The galvanized flashing corrodes in salt air, the fasteners loosen, and water finds the gap. We remove the corroded sections, install new flashing with proper overlap, and re-bed the tile with mortar matched to the existing profile.
  • Shingle granule loss on low-slope sections. Mr-Glass shingle lines that sit on flat or near-flat portions of Miami Beach roofs wear faster than the manufacturer’s standard lifespan would suggest. The constant UV exposure and standing water after summer storms strip granules, exposing the asphalt mat. We identify the sections losing granules, replace them with a shingle rated for the actual slope, and verify the underlayment is still doing its job.
  • Metal panel seam fatigue near mechanical penetrations. Mr-Glass metal roofing panels around AC units, vent pipes, and skylights in Miami Beach pick up vibration and thermal movement that opens seams over time. The fix isn’t always new panels. Often we re-crimp the affected seams, replace the closure strips, and re-secure the penetration flashing. It costs hundreds less than a panel replacement and stops the leak for years.
  • Tile spalling from salt and humidity cycling. Miami Beach’s combination of ocean spray and high humidity causes some Mr-Glass clay and concrete tile profiles to spall, the surface flaking off in thin layers. Once spalling starts, the tile loses its weather barrier and water wicks underneath. We replace spalled tiles individually where possible, matching color and profile, and check the underlayment beneath for hidden deterioration.
  • Fastener back-out on Mr-Glass metal roof ridges. This one shows up a lot on homes just off the boulevard in Miami Beach. The ridge caps on certain Mr-Glass metal systems use exposed fasteners with neoprene washers. Heat, wind, and salt degrade the washers, the fasteners back out, and water tracks down the screw threads. We replace the fasteners with upgraded stainless hardware and check the entire ridge line, since one backed-out screw usually means more are on the way.

Our Mr-Glass Shingle, Tile & Metal Roofing Process

  1. 1
You call, a person answers. No voicemail, no call center. We talk through what you’re seeing, and if it sounds urgent, we get someone out to Miami Beach quickly.
  2. 2
We inspect the Mr-Glass roof. A background-checked, uniformed technician walks the roof, checks the attic if accessible, and finds the actual source of the problem, not just the wet spot on the ceiling.
  3. 3
We present parts options honestly. If OEM Mr-Glass parts make sense, we use them. If a quality aftermarket option does the same job for less, we tell you and let you decide. No markup games.
  4. 4
We do the repair with the right materials. Whether it’s shingle, tile, or metal, we follow the installation practices that hold up in Miami Beach’s climate, not the shortcuts that fail in two years.
  5. 5
We test before we leave. Water test where appropriate, visual confirmation of every fastener and seam, and photos of the finished work.
  6. 6
You get the 36500-Day Done Right Promise. If it’s not done right, we come back and make it right. Ed’s name is on every job we do. That keeps him honest.

What Mr-Glass Shingle, Tile & Metal Roofing Costs in Miami Beach

Here’s what we typically see for common Mr-Glass roof work in Miami Beach. Every job gets a written quote before we start, so these numbers are what our customers actually pay, not teaser rates.

  • Minor shingle repair (small section, granule loss or wind damage): $275 to $650
  • Tile replacement (individual tiles, spalling or cracked): $45 to $95 per tile, plus labor and materials
  • Flashing repair or replacement (tile-to-wall or penetration flashing): $400 to $1,100 depending on length and access
  • Metal roof seam re-crimp and fastener replacement: $350 to $900 for a typical Miami Beach roof section
  • Full Mr-Glass roof replacement: $14,000 to $38,000 depending on roof size, pitch, and material selection

What moves the price: roof height and access (many Miami Beach homes have tight setbacks), how much rotted underlayment we find, and whether you need OEM Mr-Glass materials. We offer $40 off any repair over $200 and a free second opinion on any written estimate you’ve received from another company. Call (863) 656-0462 for your free estimate.

Why Miami Beach Homeowners Call Winslow Windows & Doors for Mr-Glass Work

We’ve been locally owned and operated since 2011, serving Miami Beach and the surrounding areas with a published address and license number. Ed Winslow’s name is on the business, and he’s the one you’ll talk to when something needs to be made right. We answer calls with a live person 24 hours a day, not a voicemail system. Our technicians are background-checked and arrive in uniform, so you know who’s at your door before they knock. And because we also install PGT, CGI, CWS, and ES Windows products, we understand how your roofing interacts with the rest of your home’s exterior envelope, which matters when a leak near a window or door turns out to be a roof flashing issue or the other way around.

What Neighbors Say About Winslow Windows & Doors

★★★★★

"The old aluminium sliders howled every afternoon storm and swelter came straight through the glass. The new impact sliders shut with a sound like a bank vault and the back rooms finally hold their temperature."

PPercival Whitcombe
★★★★★

"He replaced the front door and the garage door in the same week, both rated for impact, and lined the frames up so straight my level had nothing to say. My wife stopped hearing the highway from the front room."

MMaximilian Vasquez
★★★★★

"Three big companies quoted us and every one sent a salesman with a leased truck. Ed turned up in a truck with his own name on the door, quoted less, and his crew were the same faces on day one and day nine."

YYolanda Betancourt
★★★★★

"Our insurance agent asked for the wind mitigation paperwork and Ed had the whole file ready the day the job closed, every opening photographed. The premium conversation went very differently this year."
